Eating more cooked green leafy vegetables can help absorb the nutrition from food, especially if you are vegetarian and/or you have symptoms of anemia.
SEASONAL HEALTH NOTES:
Spring is almost here! We have had a long, snowy winter resulting in Spring floods. This means that this is a damper spring compared to the previous years. This can make dampness-related symptoms worse, such as arthritis and sinusitis. If you have issues caused by dampness, you can reduce your dairy intake or eat more soup cooked with adlay seed (or called seed of Job's tears), which can reduce the dampness.
Many people are starting to suffer from runny nose and cough these last few weeks. Just as a reminder, please do not take off your heavy winter clothing too soon if you want to avoid getting the common cold.
If you have been treated for allergies before but the symptoms are coming back during this season, now is the time to schedule an appointment: your immune system needs to be readjusted over and over for a couple of years to totally overcome allergies.

RECIPES:
Steam Fish: Fish is a healthy food that is easy to digest. It is high in protein. Here is one way to cook it. Ingredients: 1.1lb fish fillet, such as walleye, perk, etc. 2.1 green onion chopped, 5 slices of ginger root chopped, 2 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 clove garlic chopped, a pinch salt, 1 small red pepper if you like spicy taste. Instruction: 1. evenly distribute half of the ginger on a plate, put fish on the top of the ginger, evenly massage the salt on the top of the fish, put the plate in a steamer, steam 15 minutes after the water starts boiling (the fish will turn white). dump some extra juice out of the plate (doesn't have to be too dry). 2. put all the remaining ingredients into a frying pan and heat on high; stir the ingredients until the oil bubbles and the garlic turns to slight yellow. 3. pour all the ingredients from the frying pan on top of the steamed fish plate evenly. You're done! Serves 3 persons.
Have a healthy, happy spring season.
